We seem to be passing time inside of our homes trying to figure out what to do next on our “To Do” list.
Looking for a project to pass the time?
Have extra material and old sheets laying around?
By using the time that we have now, we should prepare for next winter. We can get a step ahead by making sleeping bag tops and pre-filled (half made) sleeping bags. So, when we are able to meet up with our groups again, we will have many sleeping bags almost ready to go to shelters.
We can prepare for the possibility that so many will be put out on the streets with no place to go.
With all that is going on in this world, it is very frightening to see how devastating things are. Most of us will come out of this unscathed, but there are the few that will inevitably fall through the cracks and lose everything. These are the people that we need to keep in our daily thoughts and prayers.
I, myself spend an hour a day making tops, while my Mom takes them and fills them with blanketing and puts a few knots on them to hold them in place (We call them pre-fills). They are then ready for a group to finish up easily.
So, the next time you are bored or looking for something to do, get out that sewing machine and start sewing.
